Terms of Usage for Continental eBooks/Digital Content

  1. Usage rights, third-party access, duplication, printing, storage
    Unless otherwise specified, digital content, including eBooks, are licensed, not sold. The user is granted nonexclusive, nontransferable license(s) for use of the eBook/digital content and all related files. The user is not authorized to grant access to the eBook/digital content, in whole or in part, to any unlicensed third party, in particular, to sublicense, to transfer, to distribute, to transmit, to timeshare, or to rent out the eBook/digital content. Making the eBook/digital content available on the Internet or other networks, reselling the eBooks/digital content, distributing or transmitting via other electronic means, and/or any use for commercial purposes is not permitted. Making copies or printouts and storing a backup copy of the eBook/digital content on another device is not permitted. Inclusion of the eBook/digital content, in whole or in part, in a user’s own print or online publication is not permitted. Copying, distributing, or transmitting of eBook/digital content is not permitted. Continental Press’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The above conditions also apply to any audio, video, or other files that accompany the eBook/digital content.
  2. Content alteration, third-party rights
    The user may create and save bookmarks, highlights, notes, and assessment data as provided by the functionality of the program. The user is not authorized to create derivative works based on the contents of the eBook/digital content, nor to use these contents in any way that would infringe the copyrights in this material. Any proprietary or copyright notices, disclaimers, digital watermarks, trademarks, onscreen notices, labels, or other marks must not be removed or suppressed from the eBook/digital content in any way.
  3. Registration, access details
    The user is provided with login credentials upon registration with Continental eBooks. Access to the licensed eBooks/digital content is via the customer account. Registration is via email (username) and password. Registration is only possible when all mandatory fields are completed truthfully. The password must be kept secure by the user. It must not be passed on to third parties. If a user becomes aware of anything that indicates that a third party may have acquired access to his or her password or may actually be using it, the user must change the password immediately or request the publisher to do so.
  4. Accessibility
    The publisher makes no warranties as to continuous unlimited access to the licensed eBooks/digital content. Disruptions or service failures cannot be ruled out. The publisher reserves the right to alter, expand, limit, or discontinue the environment in which eBooks/digital content are made available and to remove data at any time and without further notice. The publisher accepts no liability for data losses.
  5. Misuse
    The publisher reserves the right to investigate occurrences of suspected unauthorized use or other contract violations and to take appropriate actions, in particular to deny the purchaser further access to the licensed eBooks/digital content, either in full or in part, temporarily or, in case of major violations, permanently.

Digital Products

For individual eBooks, student sets with eBooks, and other digital orders, a digital set up fee of 4% of the digital order (minimum charge of $4.00) will be applied during checkout. Once logged in and registered, digital products are nonrefundable.

Tech Compatibility and SSO
eBooks/digital licenses offer 24/7 access and are compatible on all devices, including iPad iOS 13+. ClassLink and Clever single sign-on (SSO) are available for eBook/digital license orders 50+. Google Classroom SSO is available for eBook/digital license orders 25+. An integration fee may apply for third-party support. Contact us to inquire about SSO for your learning management system (LMS).

Terms for One-Year eBook/Digital Licenses
Purchased eBooks/digital licenses are valid for one year from activation date. Free eBooks in student sets are valid for one year from purchase date of student sets. See Permissions & Terms of Usage above.

Shipping & Returns

Expedited Shipping
If your shipment requires expedited shipping, please contact our Customer Service Department at 800.233.0759.

Contiguous United States (48 states) Shipments
Materials will be shipped via U.S. mail, UPS, or FedEx Ground. East coast orders should arrive within 3–5 business days. West coast orders should arrive within 7–10 business days. Orders up to $75.00 receive an $8.95 shipping charge. Orders over $75.00 receive a 12% shipping charge.

Alaska, Hawaii, Offshore U.S. Territories, and International Shipments
Materials will be shipped by most efficient method. Charges will be 40% of cost of material (minimum shipping charge of $45). Some destinations may have higher rates. You will be contacted if the shipping cost charged through the website is not sufficient for delivery. Continental will ship to the address provided by the customer and is not liable for shipments held in customs.

Returns for Digital and Printed Products
Once logged in and registered, digital products are nonrefundable. Printed/physical materials may be returned for credit or refund within 30 days of receipt. All merchandise returned for proper credit must be in saleable condition.  If you have received items that you are not satisfied with, please call our Customer Service Department at 800.233.0759 to initiate a credit or refund. All returns must be shipped, with transportation charges paid (no C.O.D.s), to:

Payment
Our website accepts purchase orders and credit cards. School orders require a purchase order number. Accepted credit cards include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. These payment methods also apply to offline orders, as well as check and money order made payable to Continental Press. Please click here to access our order form for more details.

If your credit card was declined, it could be for one of the following reasons:

  • Your account had insufficient funds.
  • The credit card company processing your card has determined that there have been too many transactions on your account to process the order. You will need to contact your credit card or bank.
  • The information you provided does not pass our billing address verification check. When we process credit card transactions, we match the billing address of the card to what the customer entered as part of our fraud protection policy. If the addresses do not match, the order is declined.

Sales Tax
Sales tax applies to CA, HI, NC, and WA, and home addresses in AR, DC, FL, IL, IN, MD, NY, OH, PA, and TN. Please note that the website applies sales tax to all orders in these states. If you are tax exempt, we will refund the charge on your order.
