Parental Involvement Literacy
Parent involvement in early literacy is an important component of a child’s academic success. Developed for parents with students in grades K–12, Continental’s parent involvement resources include handbooks, kits, a video, and bookmarks to promote at-home learning and address everyday social topics.
Materials in this parent involvement section cover many issues and concerns on parents’ minds, including strategies for becoming a good reading and writing partner for their child, Internet safety, bullying, homework and test-taking strategies, nutrition and physical fitness, stress and anxiety, and state standards. Encourage parental involvement in reading development and share these at back-to-school events or as part of your lending library.
