Empire State Mathematics - March to March

Get ready for testing day with Empire State Mathematics —March to March! This series of instructional workbooks reinforces the skills tested on the New York State Mathematics Test and are the same as those taught in March of the previous grade to March of the current grade.

Each lesson in the Empire State Mathematics—March to March provides instruction for a specific content strand of the New York State Learning Standard for Mathematics.

• Page 1: Instruction
  A vocabulary list opens the lesson with words students will need to know. Key explanations of the skills or ideas are presented, followed by examples that are worked out in numbered steps. At the sides are boxes with extra information that explain a concept, tell how one idea relates to another, or act as reminders of a meaning or concept.

• Page 2: Multiple-choice questions
  The first problem is a guided practice question featuring an explanation box that tells how to work out the answer. Independent practice questions follow.

• Page 3: Short-response questions
  A guided practice question is followed by independent practice.

• Page 4: Extended-response question
  Independent practice.
